The Food Rescue program picks up perishable foods from Greater Lowell supermarkets up to three times per week and distributes them to our member agencies and to a senior housing complex while the items are still fresh to prevent food waste.

 All Food Rescue items are still safe to eat but may be “ugly” produce or overstocked items that can’t be sold before their expiration. Rescued items include fresh produce, prepared salads, sandwiches, yogurts, and even bakery items!
